jen + josh {couple session}

Wow. LOVED loved loved this session. These two picked the location of a lifetime at a beautiful marina inside a state park in Northern Virginia. We had killer lighting, huge horizons, a big chunk of the Potomac staring us in the face, a hint of fall colors, and two fabulous models. We could not. stop. shooting. Jen and Josh were a blast and willing to do whatever we asked them to! They photograph SO WELL. Then they brought their dog Remy at the end of the session and we snagged some awesome dock photos with him too, and who doesn’t love photos with a dog in them?? Choosing favorites from this session was sooo hard, so if it seems like there are a lot, that’s because there are. :)

the burts {family session}

Perfect fall weather and beautiful little families sure make our work easy for us! This family had the cutest little stylish kids (and with a mom like theirs, you can clearly see where they get their style from!). They came dressed to the nines and ready to play, so that’s exactly what we did in a fun little park in Georgetown. They loved the swings and they obviously adore their parents—it was so fun to watch them all play together. These kids are soooo good, and they photograph so well…just like their parents! :) What a beautiful family!

Here are some of our favorites.

jennifer + jeremy {wedding. washington, dc}

We loved this couple’s whimsical wedding reception complete with pink ribbons and twinkling lights decorating the beautiful scene of the historic Carlyle House in Old Town Alexandria. The Georgetown Cupcakes display was to die for, and the little flower girls with their flower crowns topped off the evening. Especially when the smallest flower girl met her match on the dance floor with the cute little guy in a suit and they showed us all how it’s done—so proper! We were eating it up. Jennifer and Jeremy are so happy together and we were so happy to work with them! And who knew the Jeremy would whip out the breakdance moves all tuxed out in front of the reception venue? So rad.

The weather was flawless, the wedding was elegant, the day was perfect. Thanks you two for allowing us to capture it all!

Mini Session Marathon

Because we LOVE Christmas, and because we’ve had too many requests to fit in full-size photo sessions for everyone’s Christmas card hopes and dreams, we’ve come up with a way to fit more of you into our schedule, make it simpler, and make it more affordable for you.

Here’s everything you need to know to be part of our Mini Session Marathons.

Sat Nov 13 and Sat Nov 20
1 set Georgetown location
25 minute sessions
25 photos each

The best part is that we’ve been trying to come up with a way to “give back” for a while now, and we feel like this is the perfect opportunity to do that. So….we’ll be donating ALL the proceeds from the Mini Shoot Marathons {MSMs} to two needy families who live right here in Arlington so that they can enjoy Christmas. If you’re interested in participating, contact us through our “contact” page and refer to either MSM 1 (Nov 13) or MSM 2 (Nov 20), and we’ll schedule a time that works best for you, first come first serve.

Yay! Let’s get our holiday groove on!

the tintles {family session}

We thought we might get rained out for this session (hasn’t happened to us yet…cross your fingers!), but it only rained up until the second we pulled up, and then it was nothing but sun and perfect sunset lighting for this darling family. These kids were so cute, I’m pretty sure Hailey was the hippest little girl I’d ever seen, and she knew how to work it for the camera! She and her little brother Graham were all smiles and so much fun to follow around taking endless pictures of. Add their parents and you get one smiley, easy-going family that was a blast to work with. We loved this session!

Here are some of our favorites.

christian o.

This little guy had an awesome one-year-old session at a huge local park that is loaded with colors and fun park toys everywhere, which makes it perfect for a little man to crawl around and be happy for photos. :)

Here are some highlights…

jen + scott {wedding. baltimore, md}

Jen and Scott are both artists. Graphic designers that are absolutely incredible at what they do. How fitting then that they should have their small beautiful wedding at the Baltimore Museum of Art? (You may recognize them and their excellent taste of locations from this engagement session.) An intimate ceremony with close family in the sculpture garden was perfect for these two, and you can imagine it made for some really fun photos to have art surrounding us on all sides. We loved Jen’s unconventional dress and Scott’s tie to match! They were both so calm and happy on their big day, which made our job really easy. Thanks guys for letting us be a part of your beautiful wedding, we had so much fun with you and your families!

alia + adam

This post is long overdue, especially since the baby bump featured here is now an almost 5 month old baby!! But we couldn’t go without posting this lovely couple who we love. These two are genuinely good people, inside and out. We met years ago when Alia, who is also a photographer, took some of my and Jon’s engagement photos and did an amazing job, and we’ve been friends ever since. We owe these guys much more than photos, but it was fun to take their pictures for a change and see things come full circle at least in a photo swap. We’re so happy they asked us to take their photos right before their baby came. Adam and Alia are perfect for each other, totally in love, and they’re now incredible parents to their beautiful baby boy! You two are rad, we heart you. Lots.

Here are some faves…in a location that ended up having a lot of pleasant surprises that we LOVED.
